AWS Integration Overview

This guide provides a complete walkthrough for integrating your AWS environment with the Matters platform at both Organisation Level and Account Level. It includes step-by-step instructions for setting up the required IAM Roles, Trust Policies and Permissions either manually or through CloudFormation templates. It also explains how to initiate Management Account Integration for organisation-wide onboarding, run the provided CloudFormation stack, retrieve the Management Role ARN, and finalise the setup within the Matters Console.The guide also covers optional integration of CloudTrail Logs for Data Detection and Response (DDR), where you can specify the destination S3 bucket for CloudTrail events to enable continuous monitoring and real-time threat detection.

AWS Integration Overview

AWS integration with the Matters Platform supports two modes:

1. Organisation-Level Integration

• Supported only through CloudFormation

• Requires access to the AWS Management Account

• Automatically deploys required roles across all AWS Organization accounts

2. Account-Level Integration

• Supported manually or through CloudFormation

• Ideal for individual account onboarding
